Be thankful that the British Virgin Islands (or the BVIs) are among the least developed destinations in the eastern Caribbean. That leaves visitors a rare opportunity to enjoy the unspoiled beauty of an island collection known as a sailor's paradise. Although there are plenty of creature comforts, you won't find the sprawling resorts or high-rise hotels common to other tropical vacation spots (including the neighboring U.S. Virgin Islands).
The entire BVI population of approximately 35,000 is concentrated on the four main islands of Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, and Anegada. The majority of the remaining 50 islands are uninhabited. Most of the stunning vistas trace their origins to volcanic activity of eons past. The mountainous topography also explains the dramatic variance in climate, ranging from tropical rainforest to high desert. The craggy coves once attracted an international cast of pirates. Fortunately, the pirates are long gone but the wonders of nature remain, along with more than a few shipwrecks.
Virgin Gorda boasts perhaps the most picturesque sight in the BVIs -- an assortment of immense granite boulders and crystal-clear pools known as the Baths. There's also a national park that features Gorda Peak at 1,370 feet. Low-lying Anegada stands out in the BVIs as an eroded coral reef and home to a spectacular array of tropical marine life.
Sandy Cay offers still more geographic diversity. The east side of the island is volcanic, the west side a coral reef atoll, and the central area a wetland. Visitors can hike, snorkel, fish, and birdwatch all in one day. Tortola, the BVIs' largest island, is the seat of government in Road Town and the location of the bulk of the territory's resorts, hotels, restaurants, and shops. Tortola can also claim the highest point in the BVIs -- 1,780-foot Sage Mountain, which is the centerpiece of the Sage Mountain National Park.
With so many islands to explore, the BVIs can be almost too much of a good thing. Whatever you choose, our crew is ready to help you enjoy your favorites activities. If snorkeling is your passion, we have the gear and guides available, along with an underwater camera. For deep-sea fishing, there are two rods aboard. There are also kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and wakeboards.
Make sure you leave plenty of time for unhurried island-hopping and private beach parties. Each evening offers a protected anchorage at a new location, and another opportunity to enjoy a sundowner and the fresh catch of the day.
Although we're happy to provide a suggested itinerary, the decision belongs to you. We invite you to learn more about the many attractions of the British Virgin Islands

When you book your tour with us, you can be assured that you are reserving directly with the operator of your excursion, not with a distant reseller. You'll receive the personalized attention that comes naturally from a two-person crew with many years of experience on the water.
Likewise, our Lagoon 560 catamarans were built with luxury in mind, with well-appointed cabins, private bathrooms, showers, ample seating, panoramic windows, and first-rate entertainment systems. (Separate quarters for the crew members are located in the forepeaks of the boat.) You and your guests have easy access to the water from two step-off platforms built into the stern of the boat. A dinghy with an outboard motor is available for shore excursions. There is also a deck shower and BBQ.
We are fortunate to have a seasoned chef aboard who specializes in international cuisine. You can look forward to meals that are not only delicious, but presented with a natural beauty and elegance to match your surroundings. Snacks, featuring local fresh fruit, are always available for our guests, as well as a full range of beverages. We're also happy to customize menus for vegetarian and gluten-free meals, and accommodate other special requests.
