About Our Operations
Are you the tour operator or a salesperson?
Bahama Sailing Charters is the web site of the tour operator conducting charters on Amura II, Whispers II, and Magic Life. Reserving your tour through our web site enables you to bypass the middlemen, resellers, and brokers that dominate the luxury charter business. Instead, you'll be able to work directly with our team to plan your tour.
Can you accommodate special food and drink requests?
We're more than happy to address special requests from our guests. Our on-board chefs are highly trained and have extensive experience accommodating guests with food allergies, dietary restrictions, and other concerns. Please provide us with advance notice of your requests and we'll make every effort to meet your needs.
Do we have to depart at a set time?
You will see that default departure times have been posted on our online calendar. However, we'll make every effort to accommodate the preferences of our guests.
How many boats do you operate?
We operate three boats: two 56-foot Lagoon 560 catamarans (Amura II and Whispers II) and one 67-foot Predator 64 motor yacht (Magic Life). All of our boats are maintained in first-rate condition and include the amenities you would expect on a luxury craft. The catamarans sleep eight guests; the yacht, six. Your choice depends on personal preference. The Magic Life provides greater range and the thrill of speed, while the Amura II and Whispers II promise the open air experience of sailing. Each boat is staffed by a two-person crew.
Is the reservation process secure?
Our web site employs industry-standard encryption to protect your personal information when you make a payment. The information we collect on the checkout form is required by financial institutions to verify your identify. We do not record your credit card number.
What forms of payment do you accept?
You will need to pay a deposit to make a reservation. You may make a credit card payment through our secure online transaction system using Visa, Mastercard, or Discover. If you reserve far enough in advance, you have the option of paying for your deposit by check. You may also pay your balance payment by credit card.
Why haven't I received an email confirming the reservation I made?
Our reservation system automatically sends out a confirmation email when you complete your booking online. Unfortunately, overzealous spam filters often misdirect automated emails. If you can't find our email in your "inbox", you probably need to check the "spam" folder of your email account.

if you have a Hotmail, MSN, or Live email account, delivery was probably blocked by Microsoft's SmartScreen. You will need to adjust the options of your email account to add bahamasailingcharters.com to your list of "safe senders". Once you have made the change, please email us and we will be happy to resend your confirmation email.
Your online reservation system is not working. Can I call someone to book a tour?
Unfortunately, using the Internet is not without frustration. If you're having difficulty making a reservation online, you might want to check the privacy and security settings of your web browser. Your browser must accept "cookies" if you wish to book your tour online. There are other technical reasons, such as firewalls and anti-spyware programs, that may interfere with your ability to use the online reservation system.

Of course, we'd be happy to handle your reservation by telephone. Please call our customer support office in the United States at 401-946-4544.
Day Trips
Can we customize our itinerary?
We have our favorite sites on Rose Island. We'll be happy to review them with you to customize an itinerary that suits your preferences. If you have a destination in mind, we'll do our best to accommodate you. Your only constraints are time and safety.
Do the online prices include taxes?
No. The government of The Bahamas imposes a 4 percent tax on the price of boat charters. The taxes will added to your balance payment.
How do we meet you?
Our boats depart from the Nassau Yacht Haven Marina (70 East Bay Street) in Nassau. The marina is located just to the east of the Paradise Island Bridge that connects Nassau to Paradise Island.
How far in advance should I make a reservation?
You can make a reservation through our online reservation system up to a year in advance of your tour. By the same token, you can book a tour, if a boat is available, almost up to the last minute. Given that we conduct our day trip charters with two or three boats, it's wise to make your reservations at least a few weeks in advance. Our online calendar reflects our current availability in real time.
What is your policy regarding cancellations?
If you cancel your reservation at least 30 days before your tour date, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your reservation at least a week before your tour date, we will be happy to reschedule your charter at no penalty. If you cancel less than a week before your tour date, your deposit will not be refunded. If the wind is blowing at more than 28 knots on your tour date, we will refund you in full.
Overnight and Multi-Day Charters
Can we customize our itinerary?
We have developed a suggested itinerary for each of our charters. However, the decision belongs to you. We encourage our guests to research the island chains they will be visiting and take an active role in shaping their plans. We're also happy to adjust your itinerary during your island adventure. Your only constraints are time and safety.
Do the online prices include taxes?
No. The government of The Bahamas imposes a 4 percent tax on the price of boat charters while the British Virgin Islands applies a per-person tax. The taxes will added to your balance payment.

How do you address the costs of food, beverages, fuel, marina fees, etc.?

How far in advance should I make a reservation?
You can make a reservation through our online reservation system up to a year in advance of your tour. By the same token, you can book a tour, if a boat is available, up to two weeks before you set sail. Given that we conduct our charters with two or three boats, it's wise to make your reservations at least a few months in advance. Our online calendar reflects our current availability in real time.
What is your policy regarding cancellations?

If you cancel your reservation at least 30 days before the departure of your tour, your deposit will not be refunded. If you cancel your reservation less than 30 days before the departure of your tour, both your deposit and balance payment will not be refunded. However, if we are able to charter the boat assigned to you to another guest(s) for the time period of your tour, we will return your payment(s) after subtracting any expenses incurred. If the wind is blowing at more than 28 knots on the departure date of your tour, we will reschedule your departure. The cancellation policy is defined in detail in the charter agreement.
Will my credit card be charged when I make my reservation?
Your credit card will be "authorized" for the deposit amount when you submit your reservation online. However, your credit card will not be charged for the deposit until both you and our company have signed the charter agreement. Your balance payment is due 30 days before the departure of your tour.
Will my rights and responsibilities be clearly defined by a legal contract?
Yes. When you submit your reservation online, we will respond with a personalized contract between you and our company. The contract is based on the charter agreement adopted by the American Yacht Charter Association.
